Date: SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2013 8:00 PM
With continuing protests from all corners of Armenia and mounting concern from members of the diaspora, the aftermath of the February 2013 elections raises important questions that should not be ignored.
• The electorate points to pervasive fraud and corruption outside and inside the polls.
• Outside election observers report improvements in the overall election process despite serious concerns about irregularities in voter turnout and results.
• The ruling party and leading opposition candidates both claim victory.
• The official results go unchallenged by the foreign media and governments.
How do we sort it all out?
Two distinguished guests, one a grass-roots activist and the other a policy analyst, will offer insights on how Armenia has arrived at this crisis point and how it may impact future elections. They will also help us identify strategies and actions that we can take to help ensure free and fair elections in Armenia, so that democracy and justice may prevail.
