The new chemical element-118 will be named oganesson (Og), in honour of the Russian nuclear physicist Yuri Oganessian who led the team that synthesised element-117.
My thought: Why his original name isn't taken "Oganessian" and instead it is "oganesson"? And he is promoted as Russian nuclear physicist, and not as Armenian?
