The magazine calls Rafaelian the richest jeweler in the United States and estimates her wealth at $ 1 billion. Caroline Rafaelian was born in 1966 in the United States to a family of refugees from Western Armenia. The girl's father founded a jewelry company in the United States in the year of her birth. After graduating college in Los Angeles, Caroline continued her father's business and became a jewelry designer.
In 2004, Rafaelian founded her own company Alex & Ani (named after the daughters of businesswomen). Caroline Rafaelian is an active philanthropist - she has donated more than 30 million dollars to various programs, part of which to the Armenia Foundation. Since 2015, all Alex&Ani stores have started selling CAMP HAIASTAN bracelets, the proceeds from their sales go to the organization of educational camps for Armenian children in the United States.
