ՍԵԲԱՍՏԻՈՅ ԱԶԳԱՅԻՆ

ԱՐԱՄԵԱՆ ՎԱՐԺԱՐԱՆ

1851ին հիմնուած Թարգմանչաց Վարժարանը եւ

թաղային այլ չորս վարժարանները չէին բաւեր հետզհետէ

աճող Սեբաստահայութեան։

1889 թուականին կը սկսի Արամեան Վարժարանի

շինութիւնը՝ իսկ 1895ին դասերը կը սկսին 500 երկսեռ

աշակերտներով: «Անդրանիկ» օրաթերթը նկարագրած

է վարժարանը հետեւեալ ձեւով. «Սեբաստիան

ունեցաւ փառաւոր դղեակ մը՝ ընդարձակ բակի մէջ,

երկճիւղ սանդուղներով եւ լուսաժպիտ սենեակներով»:

Երկյարկանի շէնքի առաջին յարկը կը գործածէին

Հռիփսիմեան վարժարանի սանուհիները:

Արամեան Վարժարանի ընթացքը 9 տարի տեւողութեամբ

էր՝ միջնակարգ եւ բարձրագոյն: Մինչեւ 3րդ դասարան

միջնակարգ, իսկ 4րդ դասարանին կը սկսէր բարձրագոյն

ուսումը: Ուսումնական ծրագիրը կ’ընդգրկէր բազմաթիւ

դասեր.

Հայոց լեզուն, մինչեւ 5րդ դասարան, իսկ անկէ յետոյ

գրաբարը,

Ֆրանսերէնը եւ թրքերէնը 7րդ դասարանէն սկսեալ,

Մինչեւ հինգերորդ դասարան թուաբանութիւն,

վեցերրորդին հանրահաշիւ, իսկ երկրաչափութեան ու

տիեզերագիտութեան դասերը եօթներորդին,

Հինգերորդէն սկսեալ ծրագիրը կը պարունակէր նաեւ

տարրաբանութիւն, բնագիտութիւն, հայոց պատմութիւն,

կրօնք, եկեղեցւոյ պատմութեան դասերը, Կը դասաւանդուէր նաեւ՝ առողջապահութիւն,

տնտեսագիտութիւն եւ գծագրութիւն,

Բացի ասոնցմէ ըստ փափաքի երաժշտութին ալ կը

սորվեցնէին:

Վարժարանի տնօրէններն էին՝ Յովհաննէս Թորիկեան

(1896-1903), Կարապետ Խաչատուրեան (1903-1906),

Արտաշէս Այվազեան (1906-1908), Շաւարշ Վարդապետ

Սահակեան (1908-1915):

վարժարանի բարձր դասարաններուն ֆրանսերէն

եւ հայերէն դասաւանդելու հրաւիրած է բանաստեղծ

Դանիէլ Վարուժանը: Այս մեծ մտաւորականին կողքին, ուսուցչաց կազմին մէջն էին նաեւ, իբրեւ պատմութեան

եւ աշխարհագրութեան ուսուցիչ, հայագէտ,

բանաստեղծ Միհրան Իսպիրեանը, ազգագրական

ուսումնասիրութիւններով համբաւաւոր Ֆրանսերէնի

ուսուցիչ Կարապետ Գափիկեանը, որուն «Սեբաստահայ

գաւառալեզուի բառարան»ը պսակուած է Իզմիրեանց

գրական մրցանակով 1905ին:

Վարժարանի թուաբանութեան ուսուցիչներէն էր Միհրան

Չուգասզեանը: Գծագրութեան ուսուցիչն էր Նշան Աւագ,

աւարտած՝ Պոլսոյ Գեղարուեստից վարժարանը:

Օսմանեան Սահմանդրութեան հռչակումով, ինչպէս մաս

մը գաւառային վարժարաններու, Սեբաստիոյ Արամեան

վարժարանին ներքնայարկի լսարանին մէջ եւս սկսաւ

թատերական աշխատանքը եւ բեմադրուեցաւ Րաֆֆիի

«Սամուէլ»ը, վարդանանց տօնի օրերուն «Աւարայրի Արծիւը»:

Վարժարանը 1904ին տուաւ իր առաջին շրջանաւարտները։ Աւարտական հանդէսը տեղի ունեցաւ

Մայր Եկեղեցւոյ մէջ, ի ներկայութեան խուռներամ

բազմութեան։ Շրջանաւարտ պատանիներ, նշանաբան

ընտրած էին «Զարգանալ եւ ծառայել» խօսքը, որ

գեղագրուած է իրենց աւարտական լուսանկարին վրայ:

Վարժարանը փակուած է 1915ին:
